Moontower Construction renovates, builds and develops in Austin, Texas. The name points at the city’s moonlight towers, so the logo puts a tower inside a full moon.

I won the 99designs contest in March 2017 and delivered the identity pack: logos from favicon to print, US business cards, letterhead, envelope and social covers.

The logo

A tower silhouette cut into a full moon, over a condensed wordmark and the line “Renovate · Build · Develop”.

Final logo: tower-in-the-moon emblem with condensed wordmark, reversed on charcoal and positive on white

Contest rounds

The moon and the tower stayed fixed while everything else moved: a lattice tower under a crescent, a teal and cream colourway, a slab wordmark pressed into paper.

Late-round variant: a cream moon and slab wordmark, debossed on textured paper
Colour exploration: the moon emblem in cream on deep teal, and reversed
